ENUGU, NIGERIA- The iNews Times| The Federal Government College Ikot Ekpene Old Students Association is set to defend its title at the USOSA National Sports Fiesta, competing against 29 other Unity Schools in this year’s edition.
The week-long event, hosted in Enugu State, brings together participants from 30 schools nationwide, featuring a wide range of sporting activities including football, swimming, basketball, volleyball, and indoor games.
President-General of Unity Schools Old Students Association, Michael Magaji, said the competition is designed to foster national unity, interaction, and healthy competition among alumni.
He also highlighted the importance of education reform, stressing the need for inclusive learning systems that prepare students for the modern economy.
In his remarks, Chidiebere Onyia, Secretary to the Enugu State Government, noted that the state’s Smart Green Schools initiative is already making progress in expanding access to quality education.
