‎…“Presidential race is not a computer game, but I heard you, and I will consult widely,” Jonathan stated.

‎ABUJA, NIGERIA- The iNews Times| Nigerians are closely watching developments as a Federal High Court in Abuja begins hearing on the eligibility of former President Goodluck Jonathan to contest the 2027 presidential election.

‎

‎Jonathan is expected to appear in court in person on Friday as proceedings continue over the highly anticipated matter, which has already sparked widespread political discussions across the country.

‎

‎The court hearing comes barely 24 hours after the former president publicly hinted at the possibility of returning to the presidential race during an address in Abuja on Thursday.

‎

‎His remarks followed a march by a group of supporters to his residence, where they appealed to him to contest in the forthcoming election.

‎

‎Responding to the calls, Jonathan emphasized the importance of patriotism, peace, and credible elections in Nigeria while stopping short of making a formal declaration.

‎

‎“Presidential race is not a computer game, but I heard you, and I will consult widely,” the former president stated.

‎

‎The ongoing court proceedings are expected to shape conversations around Jonathan’s potential political comeback and could have major implications for the build-up to the 2027 general elections.
