…as the APC finalises arrangements for the rescheduled congresses.
Abuja, Nigeria — The iNews Times reports that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the planned state, local government and ward congresses in Abia State.
The decision was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda.
According to the statement, the suspension followed ongoing consultations and the need to conclude certain preparatory and administrative processes to ensure the orderly, transparent and credible conduct of the congresses in the state.
Yilwatda explained that the party remains committed to due process and internal democracy, stressing that the move was necessary to guarantee fairness and compliance with party guidelines.
He added that the party would communicate the revised schedule of activities to the Independent National Electoral Commission in due course.
Party stakeholders in Abia State are expected to await further directives as the APC finalises arrangements for the rescheduled congresses.
