YOBE, NIGERIA- The iNews Times| Two members of the House of Representatives from Yobe State have resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing internal challenges within the party.
The lawmakers, Muhammad Buba Kajere, representing Fika/Fune Federal Constituency, and Hassan Kaikaku Jakduwa, representing Bade/Jakusko Federal Constituency, announced their decisions in separate statements.
In his resignation letter, Kajere said his decision followed careful consideration of his personal convictions and future political direction, pointing to unresolved crises at the national level of the party.
“I believe it is in my best interest to step aside from PDP at this time in view of the unresolved internal crisis at the national level,” he stated.
Similarly, Jakduwa said his resignation came after a thorough assessment of the current political landscape, emphasising his commitment to better serve his constituents.
“Politics, to me, has always been about service, responsibility, and the collective progress of our people,” he said.
“At every step, my priority remains the welfare, unity, and development of our communities. I firmly believe that this decision will position me to continue that service with greater focus and effectiveness,” he added.
Despite their resignations, both lawmakers did not disclose their next political affiliation, leaving their future political moves open to speculation.
