Senator Ali Ndume

…Ndume’s warning comes amidst growing concerns about the country’s direction and the APC’s future.

The iNews Times reports that the Borno South Senator Ali Ndume has issued a stern warning to President Bola Tinubu, cautioning that if he fails to address Nigeria’s challenges, he may leave the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Senator, who was the Director-General of Rotimi Amaechi’s Presidential Campaign, expressed his discontent with the current state of governance under Tinubu during an appearance on Arise News.

“I still believe President Tinubu can fix things,” Ndume said. “Failure to fix those things may cause me to leave the APC. If I decide to leave the APC, I will not hide it.”

Ndume’s warning comes amidst growing concerns about the country’s direction and the APC’s future.

He also criticized the APC’s practice of accepting defectors from other parties, warning that it could lead to the party’s collapse. “If Tinubu continues this way, it doesn’t matter if he loads more people or governors, you are just endangering the APC,” he said. “When you overload a ship, it might lead to the capsizing of the party.”

In a veiled attack on former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, Ndume suggested that El-Rufai’s current political troubles are a result of abandoning Amaechi during the APC presidential primaries.

Ndume recalled how El-Rufai had initially pledged support for Amaechi before switching camps to fully back Tinubu.

“El-Rufai was supposed to be on our side but somehow, he moved over,” Ndume revealed.

“I think these are part of the things that are annoying or frustrating him.”

Ndume’s comments appear to be a reference to El-Rufai’s recent fallout with Tinubu, which led to El-Rufai joining the opposition Social Democratic Party and subsequently joining the coalition to form a new political party.

Ndume’s warning to Tinubu comes after he alleged that presidential aides are deceiving the President on national issues and damaging his image.

He also claimed that the government has been hijacked by “kleptocrats” and “kakistocrats.”

The Senator’s allegations have raised concerns about the President’s ability to make informed decisions and the overall direction of the country.

As a prominent member of the APC, Senator Ndume’s comments are significant and may have implications for the party’s future.

His warning to Tinubu serves as a reminder that the President must address the country’s challenges to maintain the support of key stakeholders of his party, The iNews Times reports.
