…Super Eagles will face Rwanda in a Matchday 7 encounter this Friday.

IKOT EKPENE, NIGERIA – The iNews Times | The number of players in the Super Eagles’ camp has grown to 13, as Nigeria ramps up preparations for two critical fixtures in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.

This development follows the arrival of nine more players at the team’s base in Ikot Ekpene on Tuesday, according to team media officer Promise Efoghe.

Among the new arrivals are Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Ola Aina, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Moses Simon, Chidozie Awaziem, Adebayo Adeleye, and Benjamin Fredericks. They joined William Troost-Ekong, Amas Obasogie, Felix Agu, and Raphael Onyedika, who reported on Monday.

Efoghe confirmed that 13 of the 23 invited players are now present in camp, with 10 more expected before Wednesday.

“A total of 13 players are currently in camp, and we are expecting the rest of the squad to arrive later today and early tomorrow,” Efoghe told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The team’s media schedule has also been released. A press conference featuring members of the coaching staff and selected players will hold on Wednesday at the training pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

The official pre-match press conference is scheduled for Friday, with the first 15 minutes of the final training session open to media coverage.

Still expected to arrive are key players including goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali; defender Bruno Onyemaechi; midfielders Wilfred Ndidi and Frank Onyeka; and attackers Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Cyriel Dessers, Christantus Uche, and Tolu Arokodare.

Nigeria will face Rwanda in a Matchday 7 encounter this Friday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. The Super Eagles will then travel to Bloemfontein for a Matchday 8 clash against South Africa on Monday.

The stakes are high. Nigeria currently sits third in Group C with two points from two matches–behind leaders South Africa and Rwanda, who both have four points but are separated by goal difference.

Only the top team in the group will earn an automatic ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
