…CC Asekhauno becomes the 16th substantive Sector Commander of the Anambra State Command.

AWKA, NIGERIA – The iNews Times | The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the deployment of Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno as the new Sector Commander for Anambra State. Her appointment, which became effective on Friday, 12th September 2025, follows the redeployment of her predecessor, Corps Commander Joyce Nnennaya Alexander, to Delta State.

With her assumption of duty, CC Asekhauno becomes the 16th substantive Sector Commander of the Anambra State Command, bringing with her nearly three decades of experience in public safety, transport management, and leadership within the FRSC.

A native of Fugar in Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State, Asekhauno holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Jos, a Master’s degree in Transport Management from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Teachers Institute. She has also completed high-level leadership trainings, including the Strategic Course in Command Responsibility (SCCR) at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

Her professional portfolio spans assignments in multiple states and strategic FRSC departments, including Operations Officer in Osun, Public Education Officer in Kwara, Head of Special Marshals in Lagos, and various Deputy Corps Commander (DCC) roles in Ogun, Rivers, and Enugu states. Most recently, she served as Corps Commander in charge of Special Marshals at the FRSC National Headquarters in Abuja.

“I’m deeply honoured to serve the people of Anambra State,” CC Asekhauno said upon assuming office. “Under my leadership, the Command will intensify efforts to reduce road traffic crashes, improve driver education, and ensure the safety of all road users.”

Known for her operational precision and calm under pressure, Asekhauno has built a legacy of service, earning several Service Merit Awards and commendation letters across her postings. Her work with the Kwara State Traffic Management Agency (KWATMA), where she served on the board, also earned her recognition for public sector innovation and safety advocacy.

Enlisted into the Corps in 1996 as an Assistant Route Commander, Asekhauno has steadily risen through the ranks, driven by a passion for saving lives and promoting discipline on Nigerian roads. She is also a recipient of the Road Safety Star Award (RSS) for Outstanding Service.

The new Sector Commander appealed to the public for greater cooperation with road safety officers in Anambra State, adding that reducing road fatalities and enforcing discipline is a shared responsibility.

“We need the full support of residents, motorists, and community leaders to make our roads safer,” she said. “With mutual respect and adherence to traffic rules, we can achieve a drastic reduction in road crashes.”

Commander Asekhauno is happily married and blessed with children.
