Tinubu’s Projects Beat All FCT Administrations – says Wike

Nyesom Wike praises Tinubu’s administration

…says FCT Administration will soon commence commissioning of renovated schools.

ABUJA, NIGERIA – The iNews Times | Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has thrown down a bold challenge to his predecessors, declaring that no past administration in the FCT has executed more projects than the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Wike made the declaration on Tuesday during the commissioning of newly completed engineering infrastructure in Wuye District, marking the conclusion of his month-long series of project flag-offs and inaugurations across the territory.

Among the projects inaugurated under his leadership were twelve new roads across various districts, Lot 1 of the Light Up Abuja solar streetlight initiative, access roads to the Mabushi Bus Terminal, expansion of water supply networks to satellite towns (Lots 1 and 2), and the recent groundbreaking for a 600-bed hostel for the Nigerian Law School in Bwari.

Challenging anyone to dispute the administration’s performance record, Wike said Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” had set a new standard of leadership and service delivery in the FCT.

“I want to challenge anybody who would say, in the history of the FCT, that any administration has beaten the record of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Wike declared. “If there is any administration since the inception of the Federal Capital Territory that has beaten this record of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, let him speak up now, or forever remain silent. What does it show? It shows leadership that is committed and willing to change the lives of the people.”

He revealed that the road project commissioned on Tuesday was originally awarded in 2009, but left uncompleted for 16 years until President Tinubu’s intervention.

“This contract was awarded in 2009. Was Bola Ahmed Tinubu President then? No. Was this road completed? No. We have changed the narrative and shamed the opposition. Tinubu’s administration has changed the face of the FCT,” the minister said. “Tell the opposition to come and see that the FCT is working.”

Wike further disclosed that the FCT Administration will soon commence the commissioning of renovated schools across the territory as part of the administration’s drive to improve public infrastructure and education.

Turning to politics, the minister reaffirmed his loyalty to President Tinubu and pledged to support all area council chairmen who share the President’s vision.

“For all of you who are running for election and are supporting Mr President, be assured that I will support you one hundred per cent,” Wike said. “Anywhere you are, once I know you are with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, you have my total support. Very soon, there will be a political tsunami – it is Asiwaju all the way.”

Wike’s remarks capped a month of intense infrastructural activity in the FCT, underscoring the administration’s renewed focus on service delivery and its drive to transform Abuja into a model capital city.
