OSUN, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | The immediate past Chairman of the Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Mr Bola Oyebamiji, has been selected as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Osun State governorship election scheduled for next year.
He secured the ticket after being unanimously affirmed by the 1,660 accredited delegates. Oyebamiji was nominated by fellow aspirant, Mr Kunle Adegoke (SAN), and seconded by another contender, Senator Babajide Omoworare.
Following the nominations, the chairman of the party’s primary election committee, Governor Monday Okpebholo, called for a voice vote, during which all delegates endorsed his candidacy.
Announcing the outcome, Okpebholo stated, “By the powers vested in me as Chairman of the primary committee, I hereby declare Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, as the candidate of our party.”
