KEBBI, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | Bandits kill eight innocent people in attacks on Kaiwa, Gelawu, and Gebbe villages in Kebbi State’s Shanga Local Government Area.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, disclosed the information to newsmen, stating that the attacks, which occurred on Sunday night, have displaced many residents who fled to neighbouring villages and nearby bushes for safety.

Confirming the incident, the PPRO said: “The Police acknowledge the bandits attacks and confirm that coordinated security operations are ongoing. About seven persons across Kaiwa, Gelawu, and Gebbe lost their lives during the assault, with an additional victim later confirmed dead while receiving treatment. Another victim is currently undergoing medical care.”

He added that security agencies have intensified patrols and surveillance in the affected areas to prevent further attacks, and more details will be released as the operations continue.

Residents of the affected communities described the bandits attack as unprecedented, particularly in Gebbe, which has not experienced violence on such a large scale in recent years. Many people remain displaced, making it difficult to immediately determine the full extent of the casualties.
