…the new NIPR Anambra chairman pledged to deliver on her mandate.

Awka, Nigeria – The iNews Times | NIPR Anambra chairman has emerged as the Presidential Interim Executive Committee of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Anambra State Chapter inaugurated Dr. Ngozi Ulogu to pilot the affairs of the chapter for the next six months following the end of the tenure of Prof. Angela Nwanmuo.

The 12-man committee is expected to serve for a period of six months, with the possibility of an extension to a maximum of one year. Within this period, the committee is expected, among other responsibilities, to organise a credible chapter election devoid of rancour.

The appointment of the new NIPR Anambra chairman was announced by the President and Chairman of Council of NIPR, Ike Neliaku, during the AGM in the presence of council members and fellows of the institute.

Neliaku charged the interim leadership to begin work immediately in order to achieve the overall objectives of the chapter.

“If after one year they fail to perform, they will refund us one year,” he said while urging the committee to justify the confidence reposed in them.

The oath of office was administered to the new Anambra executives by Ahmad Sajoh, who is also the Chairman of the Chapter Support and Empowerment Committee of the institute.

In her acceptance speech, the new NIPR Anambra chairman, Dr. Ngozi Ulogu, a fellow of the institute and lecturer in the Department of English at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, pledged to deliver on her mandate.

She assured members that the committee would work to ensure the sustained growth, visibility and development of the Anambra State Chapter of the institute.

Ulogu expressed appreciation to the national leadership of the institute for the confidence reposed in her to serve in the Presidential Interim Executive Committee.

“I appreciate Mr President for the honour done to me to serve in the Presidential Committee,” she said.

The new NIPR Anambra chairman takes over from Prof. Angela Nwanmuo, whose two-term tenure spanning four years officially ended on Friday, March 13, 2026.

In a vote of thanks, Chief Uche Udedibia, who has been a fellow of the institute for 26 years, described the 2026 AGM as one of the best organised by the chapter since the era of the old Anambra State.

He urged the newly inaugurated interim committee to build on the successes recorded during the 2026 AGM and Summit in order to achieve even greater outcomes in future events.

Earlier, the immediate past Chairman of the chapter and former Head of the Department of Mass Communication at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Prof. Angela Nwanmuo, expressed gratitude to members for their support throughout her two tenures.

According to her, the support she received from members contributed significantly to the achievements recorded during her administration between March 2022 and March 2026.

She also encouraged members of the institute to extend the same level of support and cooperation to the new leadership of the chapter.

A major highlight of the event was the automatic presidential ticket granted to members of the 2026 AGM/Summit Committee to participate in the World Public Relations Forum 2026.

The forum is scheduled to be hosted by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations from November 15 to November 21, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja and other designated venues.
