JOS, NIGERIA- The INews Times | Suspected gunmen have abducted a retired pastor of the Evangelical Church of Winning All (ECWA), Rev. Sunday Agang.
A family source disclosed that about six armed men stormed his residence in the Fatin-Gada area of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State in the early hours of Tuesday and abducted him at gunpoint to an undisclosed location.
According to the source, the kidnappers struck around 5:00 a.m. while the family was asleep. The abductors reportedly forced their way into the house, held the occupants hostage, and took away the cleric.
“Before the family could raise an alarm, the kidnappers had fled with him in a vehicle they brought,” the source said.
Another source close to the church headquarters in Jos confirmed that the incident has been reported to security agencies, adding that efforts are ongoing to track down the abductors.
As of the time of filing this report, the gunmen had yet to contact the family or church authorities regarding any ransom demand.
