PLATEAU, NIGERIA- The iNews Times| Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested several individuals suspected to be involved in a series of so-called “silent killings” in parts of Plateau State.
The development was disclosed in a post shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who cited security sources familiar with the operations.
According to the report, the arrests were carried out by Army under Operation Enduring Peace during coordinated, intelligence-driven missions across key areas within the Jos metropolis and surrounding communities.
Sources indicated that the suspects are believed to be linked to a pattern of secretive, targeted killings often carried out at night in isolated or less populated locations, contributing to growing fear among residents.
During the operations, troops reportedly recovered weapons and other items suspected to be connected to the criminal activities.
The arrests come amid rising concerns in Plateau State over repeated incidents of unexplained killings and the discovery of bodies in remote areas, which have heightened tension across affected communities.
Security agencies confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody and undergoing interrogation as authorities work to uncover the wider network behind the attacks and identify possible accomplices.
Meanwhile, operations are said to be ongoing, with security forces intensifying efforts to dismantle criminal groups and restore peace and stability in the state.
