OYO, NIGERIA- The iNews Times| Primate Elijah Ayodele has again urged former Minister of Power, Bayo Adelabu, to take his warnings seriously if he hopes to emerge as the next governor of Oyo State, insisting that even an endorsement from the All Progressives Congress (APC) may not guarantee victory.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the cleric claimed that Bayo Adelabu’s governorship ambition hinges on a factor he says is under his spiritual control, advising the politician to seek his guidance.
“My son Bayo Adelabu, I love you, but if you miss it, what you need to become governor is in my hands. Come and take it. Try it, let APC put you there. If you don’t take it, you will lose,” Ayodele said.
He went further to make bold spiritual assertions about his influence over political outcomes.
“Let me boast as a priest, if you get there, there is no longer God. What you need to become the next governor is in my hands. I said so; God told me so. Call it whatever you like, but I am telling you, to become governor, what you need is in my pocket. If you win, there is no God,” he added.
The remarks have since triggered widespread reactions online, with many questioning the cleric’s claims and the tone of his statements regarding divine authority and political success.
