‎The victims were reportedly freed in the early hours of Sunday following what sources described as a coordinated rescue effort. However, official confirmation and full operational details were still being awaited at the time of filing this report.

‎

‎The incident had earlier sparked concern among residents and commuters along the busy Makurdi–Otukpo axis, an area known for recurring security challenges in recent times.

‎

‎As of now, security agencies have yet to release a formal statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding the abduction and the rescue. It also remains unclear whether any suspects have been arrested or if ransom was paid.

‎

‎Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the State Police Command, Udeme Edet, were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.

‎

‎Despite the lack of official details, local sources have expressed relief over the safe return of the victims, describing the development as a significant breakthrough in the face of ongoing insecurity in the area.
