She explained that once completed, the project would unlock significant employment opportunities, benefiting both residents of Nasarawa State and Nigerians at large.
According to her, the company’s expansion across key sectors, including petroleum, fertiliser, cement, agriculture, sugar, and salt, is expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs.
Highlighting the company’s long-term strategy, she said its Vision 2030 aims to reposition Nigeria and Africa from consumption-driven economies to production-focused industrial hubs.
She added that Nasarawa State remains central to this vision, noting that the NSCL project in Tunga is set to become one of the largest sugar investments on the African continent upon completion.
Earlier, the Director of Industry and Investment at the state Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment, Catherine Bako, commended the Nasarawa State government under Governor Abdullahi Sule for creating a conducive environment for private sector investment.
She noted that the administration has prioritised ease of doing business as a key policy objective.
Also speaking, the Director of Trade at the ministry, Dr Ahmed Agbo, highlighted the state’s vast mineral resources, stating that they present significant opportunities for investors.
He added that the state government is keen to collaborate with the Dangote Group to harness its mineral deposits and industrial raw materials.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Nigerian Association of Small-Scale Industrialists, Nidan Sambo Manasseh, described the Dangote Vision 2030 as a roadmap for expansion, industrial growth, and self-reliance.
He stated that Nasarawa offers a practical platform to support this vision, with its availability of raw materials and a growing base of small and medium enterprises, making it an ideal environment for large-scale industrial investment.
