‎ABUJA, NIGERIA- The iNews Times| The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, has held high-level talks with Nigeria’s Minister of Power and Director-General of the Nigeria-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Joseph Tegbe, on expanding cooperation in critical sectors, including electricity, infrastructure, and industrial development.

‎The meeting, held on Thursday, was aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between both countries and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in areas considered vital to Nigeria’s economic growth and modernization agenda.

‎During the discussions, Ambassador Yu congratulated Tegbe on his recent appointment as Minister of Power and commended his efforts in advancing Nigeria-China relations through the comprehensive strategic partnership framework.

‎The Chinese envoy reaffirmed Beijing’s commitment to working closely with Nigeria in implementing the outcomes of the recent Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Beijing Summit, as well as other bilateral agreements reached by the leaders of both nations.

‎

‎According to him, sustained collaboration in key sectors such as energy, power infrastructure, and development projects is essential to elevating the partnership between Nigeria and China to a new level.

‎

‎Ambassador Yu noted that deeper engagement in these areas would not only accelerate economic growth but also deliver meaningful benefits to the people of both countries.

‎

‎In his response, Tegbe reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding relationship with China, describing the Asian nation as one of Nigeria’s most important development partners.

‎

‎He expressed appreciation for China’s continued support toward Nigeria’s socio-economic development and pledged to deepen cooperation with the Chinese Embassy and relevant Chinese institutions.

‎

‎The minister also emphasized the importance of practical partnerships in priority sectors, including electricity infrastructure, manufacturing, and modern agricultural development, noting that such collaborations would play a key role in driving Nigeria’s industrialisation and economic transformation.

‎The meeting underscores the growing strategic relationship between Nigeria and China as both countries seek to expand cooperation in critical sectors capable of boosting investment, improving infrastructure, and supporting sustainable development.
