‎…Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu expressed condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased.

‎‎IMO, NIGERIA- The iNews Times| The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the death of a police inspector who was knocked down by a truck while on duty in Imo State.

‎

‎According to Force Public Relations Officer Anthony Placid, the incident occurred at Amaraku while the officer, attached to the Isiala Mbano Division, was conducting a lawful stop-and-search operation.

‎The officer was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Owerri, where he was later confirmed dead. His remains have since been deposited in the hospital mortuary.

‎

‎Officer said the driver, Chisom Ajah, and the Mack truck involved have been taken into custody and handed over to the State Motor Traffic Department for further investigation.

‎

‎Reacting to the incident, Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu expressed condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased, assuring that a thorough investigation would be carried out.

‎

‎The officer also urged motorists to obey traffic regulations and exercise caution, especially around checkpoints and duty posts, to prevent similar tragedies.
