…the National Coordinator of SERHA, Belusochukwu Enwere, said the initiative is part of a wider educational support scheme
ANAMBRA, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | The South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA) has launched the registration of 50,000 students across the 21 local government areas of Anambra State under its free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) scholarship programme for the 2026 examination.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Hall along Awka Road, Onitsha, on Sunday, the National Coordinator of SERHA, Belusochukwu Enwere, said the initiative is part of a wider educational support scheme aimed at sponsoring 50,000 students across the South East geopolitical zone.
Enwere noted that the sponsorship reflects President Bola Tinubu’s confidence in the potential and brilliance of young people, as well as his commitment to ensuring equal access to higher education and fostering a knowledge-driven, economically vibrant South East.
He explained that the programme seeks to reduce the financial strain on parents and guardians while creating greater access to tertiary education for indigent but academically qualified candidates in the region.
According to him, “I stand before you with gratitude to God and a deep commitment to the future of our youths as we formally begin the 50,000 Free JAMB Scholarship/Registration for students in Anambra State.
“This initiative goes beyond examination registration. It is about opening doors of opportunity, breaking barriers, and making deliberate investments in the intellectual capacity of Anambra State.
“We are proud that this effort underscores our steadfast commitment to youth empowerment and educational development across the South East. Renewed Hope must be more than a slogan; it must result in meaningful interventions that positively affect families and communities.”
He urged the beneficiaries to live up to expectations, describing the scholarship as a responsibility and a vote of confidence in their abilities. He encouraged them to prepare thoroughly, stay focused, and aim for excellence, adding that their success should justify the President’s investment in their future.
Earlier, the SERHA Coordinator in Anambra State, Alphonsus Muonagolu, expressed confidence that students from all 21 local government areas of the state would benefit from the initiative.
