ABUJA, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | The Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a political support group backing Bola Ahmed Tinubu, have been directed by the President to distribute rice across the country to support Nigerians observing the Ramadan and Lenten fasting periods.
This was revealed by the Director-General of the group and Hope Uzodinma in a statement issued on Saturday.
According to the statement, the initiative is intended to promote national unity and demonstrate compassion during a period of deep spiritual significance for both Muslims and Christians.
Uzodinma said the programme reflects President Tinubu commitment to fostering unity and showing care for citizens.
“Ramadan and Lent are seasons that remind us of sacrifice, charity, and care for one another. Through this distribution, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will ensure that families across Nigeria experience the spirit of togetherness during this sacred period,” he said.
He added that the group would coordinate the exercise through its grassroots network nationwide to ensure that families benefit from the intervention during the fasting season observed by both faiths.
The statement noted that a similar effort was carried out during the Christmas period, when rice was distributed to support Nigerians during the festivities, underscoring the administration’s commitment to assisting citizens during major religious and cultural occasions.
The nationwide distribution will target both Christian and Muslim communities, highlighting President Tinubu emphasis on inclusiveness and national unity.
