Awka, Nigeria – The iNews Times | Soludo second term inauguration preparations have received a security boost as police in Anambra State assured residents of adequate protection ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a second term in office.
The assurance on Soludo second term inauguration security arrangements was given by the spokesperson of the Anambra State Police Command, Tochukwu Ikenga, who said the Command had stepped up operations across the state.
Ikenga disclosed on Saturday that the Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, had intensified security advocacy, public sensitisation and operational deployments to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free inauguration ceremony.
He urged residents, stakeholders and visitors expected to attend the Soludo second term inauguration to remain law-abiding and cooperate with security personnel before, during and after the event.
According to him, the Command has already begun strengthening security presence across strategic locations in the state.
“The Anambra State Police Command has today, March 14, 2026, intensified security measures across the state as preparations heighten for the Soludo second term inauguration of the state government,” he said.
Ikenga recalled that the Command recently received reinforcement of personnel to support security operations.
“Recall that the Police Command received one hundred (100) well-trained and equipped personnel with armed and combat training from the Police College Oji River a few days ago.
“The officers shall complement the strategically deployed personnel at critical locations, strengthen patrols and enhance intelligence gathering to maintain law and order before, during and after the inauguration ceremony,” he said.
The police spokesperson explained that the additional personnel would work alongside already deployed officers across various parts of the state to ensure maximum security coverage.
He said the proactive measures were aimed at guaranteeing the safety of residents, visitors and dignitaries expected to attend the Soludo second term inauguration.
Ikenga further appealed to members of the public to remain vigilant and support security agencies by providing useful information that could help maintain peace and order.
“The Command also urges residents, stakeholders and visitors expected for the event to remain law-abiding and cooperate with security personnel as efforts are being made to guarantee the safety of all dignitaries and members of the public,” he added.
The Anambra State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining security and ensuring that the Soludo second term inauguration is conducted in a peaceful and secure atmosphere.
Authorities also stressed that security operations would continue across the state throughout the period of the ceremony to prevent any breach of peace.
Residents have therefore been advised to comply with security directives and cooperate fully with law enforcement personnel deployed for the event.
