‎Gunmen Kill Kebbi Trader, Kidnap Pregnant Wife

‎…the gunmen stormed the house, opened fire on Garba, and kidnapped his wife, Zainab Mohammed Yauri, who is heavily pregnant.

‎‎KATSINA, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | Tragedy hit Kebbi State on Friday as gunmen killed a local businessman and abducted his pregnant wife during a night raid on their home in Birnin Kebbi.

‎The victim, identified as Sufiyanu Garba, was reportedly shot in the early hours at his residence in the Badariya area of the state capital.

‎A family source said the gunmen stormed the house, opened fire on Garba, and kidnapped his wife, Zainab Mohammed Yauri, who is heavily pregnant. The attackers escaped immediately, leaving the community in shock.

‎Mohammed Yauri, a relative of the abducted woman, confirmed that the assailants shot the businessman at close range before taking his wife to an unknown location.

‎Garba was laid to rest on Friday following Islamic rites at the Birnin Kebbi central cemetery. Family members and community leaders have urged security agencies to step up efforts to rescue the abducted woman.

‎The Kebbi State Police Command confirmed the incident. Spokesperson Bashir Usman stated that detectives have been deployed to the scene and an investigation is ongoing.

‎The attack adds to growing security concerns in the North-West, coming just a day after bandits reportedly killed several residents in separate attacks in parts of Katsina State.
