‎Soludo Holds Thanksgiving Service to Mark Completion of First Term ‎

‎…Soludo, expressed profound appreciation to the people of Anambra for their resilience and unwavering support.

‎‎ANAMBRA, NIGERIA- The iNews Times | Chukwuma Soludo on Sunday hosted an interdenominational thanksgiving service to mark the conclusion of his first term in office, reaffirming his commitment to transforming Anambra into a destination hub and a state free from lawlessness during his second term.

‎The service, themed “Leading with Wisdom and Integrity,” took place at the Anambra International Convention Centre and brought together clerics from different Christian denominations. It served as a spiritual prelude to the governor’s second-term inauguration scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

‎In his remarks, Soludo, accompanied by his wife, Nonye Soludo, expressed profound appreciation to the people of Anambra for their resilience and unwavering support. He also acknowledged God’s guidance through the challenges encountered during his first four years in office.

‎Speaking on the theme of the gathering, centred on ecumenism, the governor assured residents that his administration would continue to drive development in the state based on merit and the value individuals contribute, rather than their religion or ethnic background.

‎“We have come this far with the massive support of Ndi Anambra, and we promise not to disappoint as we embark on the next phase of this journey,” he said.

‎Soludo reiterated the pledge he made during his first oath of office to make Anambra a liveable and prosperous homeland and a destination for investors and visitors. He noted that within three years in office, his administration had already begun delivering tangible results.

‎The governor also acknowledged the role played by the electorate in the last governorship election, saying communities mobilised resources and support to ensure the success of the candidate they believed in.

‎According to him, the vision guiding his administration has always been rooted in faith and collective effort. He assured residents that even greater developmental strides would be achieved in the next four years.

‎Highlighting the importance of unity in governance, Soludo said society cannot progress by judging people based on how they worship. Instead, he emphasised assessing individuals by the value they contribute. He cited the recruitment of over 8,000 teachers drawn from more than 18 states without consideration for their religious or ethnic affiliations as an example of this approach.

‎Looking ahead to his second term, the governor called on citizens to remain active partners in building a better society. He stressed the administration’s determination to rid the state of criminal elements, including ritualists and cult groups, while pursuing a vision of a safer and more prosperous Anambra.

‎The sermon was delivered by a panel of prominent clerics, including Francis Wale Oke and Alexander Ibezim. They commended the governor’s emphasis on human capital development and infrastructure, while urging him to remain guided by integrity and divine wisdom in leadership.

‎The service ended with prayers for sustained peace in Anambra and for the success of the governor’s vision in the coming four years.

‎Among dignitaries present were government officials, members of the State House of Assembly, party supporters, and former governor and ex-Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige.
