The iNews Times learnt that the suspect fired shots in at least two classrooms, causing widespread panic and chaos.

The gunman is believed to have died by suicide in a school toilet.

Graz Mayor Elke Kahr described the incident as a “terrible tragedy” and confirmed that the suspect was among the deceased.

“We are shocked and saddened by this senseless act of violence,” Kahr said.

“Our thoughts are with the families of the victims and the entire school community.”

The authorities responded quickly to the incident, deploying regular units, the Cobra tactical force, and a helicopter.

A disaster alert was issued for nearby hospitals, and the Helmut-List-Halle was repurposed as an emergency triage center for the injured.

Chancellor Christian Stocker canceled all appointments for the day, and the interior minister traveled to Graz to coordinate the government response.

The school was evacuated and secured later in the morning, with authorities assuring that there is no further danger.

The city of Graz, with a population of around 300,000, is reeling from the incident. Students and teachers are believed to be among the casualties, with 28 people injured. The exact number of wounded is still unclear.

The incident has shocked the nation, prompting an outpouring of grief and support for the victims’ families.

The government has promised a thorough investigation into the incident and will provide support to the affected families.

As the city of Graz comes to terms with the tragedy, many are left wondering how such a senseless act of violence could occur.

The incident has raised questions about school safety and security measures in Austria, and a thorough review of the country’s policies is likely to follow.

The victims’ families have been notified, and counseling services are being made available to those affected.

The school will remain closed for the foreseeable future, as authorities work to process the scene and provide support to the community.

This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of prioritizing school safety and providing support to those affected by violence.

As the investigation into the school shooting continues, the nation comes together to mourn the loss of life and support those affected, iNews Times reports.
