‎…in a political landscape often shaped by party loyalties, the Mbah administration has distinguished itself.

‎‎ENUGU, NIGERIA- The iNews Times| Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State is increasingly being recognised for a governance approach that observers say transcends partisan politics and prioritises people-centred development.

‎

‎This was contained in a statement issued by Okechukwu Nwafor on behalf of Concerned Professionals for Good Governance, an advocacy group promoting accountable leadership.

‎

‎According to the group, in a political landscape often shaped by party loyalties, the Mbah administration has distinguished itself by focusing on measurable outcomes in critical sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare and economic growth.

‎

‎The statement noted that since assuming office, Mbah has pursued an agenda anchored in service delivery, drawing on his private-sector background, where efficiency and results are considered essential. It added that this approach is evident in the structured implementation of policies and projects across the state.

‎

‎It further highlighted infrastructure development as one of the administration’s most visible hallmarks, citing ongoing road construction and rehabilitation projects across urban and rural communities to improve connectivity and ease the movement of goods and people.

‎

‎Residents, the group said, have continued to experience reduced travel time and improved access to markets, schools and healthcare facilities as a result of these interventions.

‎

‎On economic development, the group commended the administration’s efforts to attract investment and support small and medium-scale enterprises, noting that these initiatives are contributing to job creation and youth engagement.

‎

‎In the education sector, it pointed to reforms including school infrastructure upgrades, teacher development programmes and the introduction of digital learning tools, describing them as steps towards preparing students for a knowledge-driven economy.

‎

‎Healthcare delivery, according to the statement, has also received attention through investments in primary healthcare centres and improved access to essential medical services, particularly in underserved communities.

‎

‎The group also acknowledged efforts to strengthen security through community-law enforcement collaboration, stressing that development can only thrive in a stable environment.

‎

‎It further noted that the administration’s policies are designed to be inclusive, cutting across political, ethnic and social divides, thereby reinforcing public confidence in governance.

‎

‎While some critics have linked Mbah’s politics to the ruling All Progressives Congress at the federal level under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the group argued that governance should be assessed on the basis of performance and impact rather than political affiliation.

‎

‎The statement also referenced recent initiatives such as the flag-off of pipe-borne water projects in partnership with the French Government, aimed at expanding access to potable water in the state.

‎

‎It added that the administration has taken steps to address multiple taxation by streamlining levies across the civil service, local government system and market operations.

‎

‎According to the group, these reforms reflect a broader commitment to transparency, accountability and ease of doing business.

‎

‎It concluded that as Nigeria navigates its developmental challenges, leadership focused on practical outcomes and inclusive governance will remain critical, noting that ongoing reforms in Enugu State are already impacting residents’ daily lives.
