‎…“Baba Mohbad wants something I can’t give him,” she stated during the interview.

‎LAGOS, NIGERIA- The iNews Times| Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has spoken publicly about her ongoing feud with her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, alleging that the conflict is centered more on property and royalties than the pursuit of truth.

‎

‎Speaking during a recent interview with Channels Television, Wunmi claimed that her relationship with Mr. Aloba deteriorated shortly after her husband’s tragic death.

‎

‎According to her, rather than grieving together as a family, attention quickly shifted to Mohbad’s assets and financial interests.

‎

‎Addressing the controversial DNA demand surrounding her son, Liam, Wunmi made a strong allegation against her father-in-law, claiming he secretly desires a negative DNA result in order to gain leverage in the ongoing dispute over Mohbad’s estate.

‎

‎“Baba Mohbad wants something I can’t give him. He wants the DNA of my child to be negative,” she stated during the interview.

‎

‎Reflecting on their past relationship, Wunmi revealed that she and Mr. Aloba were once very close and shared a cordial bond before tensions emerged within the family.

‎

‎She claimed the relationship began to deteriorate following disagreements over family matters, including naming ceremonies and Mohbad’s reconciliation with his mother.

‎

‎Despite the ongoing public controversy, Wunmi maintained that she has never refused to carry out a DNA test and remains willing to go through the process to confirm her son’s paternity.

‎

‎Meanwhile, Mr. Joseph Aloba has previously expressed suspicions about the circumstances surrounding his son’s death and has accused Wunmi of having a role in it, allegations she has consistently denied.

‎

‎The dispute continues to generate widespread public attention as conversations surrounding Mohbad’s death, family conflicts, and inheritance issues remain unresolved.
