…the new NOA Anambra Director expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve.

Awka, Nigeria – The iNews Times reports that NOA Anambra Director Barrister Ifeoma Chijioke has pledged to reposition the National Orientation Agency in the state, declaring her determination to break what she described as the chains that have held the agency back over the years.

The appointment of Chijioke as substantive Director of the National Orientation Agency in Anambra State was approved by the Director-General of the agency, Isa Lanre Onilu, following her recent promotion to Grade Level 17.

The formal presentation of her promotion letter took place at the state headquarters of the agency located at the Federal Secretariat Complex in Awka. The event marked a significant leadership transition within the agency’s Anambra structure.

Speaking shortly after receiving her letter, the new NOA Anambra Director expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and outlined her vision for reform and institutional strengthening. Drawing inspiration from the biblical figure Esther, she declared her readiness to confront longstanding challenges that have slowed the agency’s progress in the state.

According to Chijioke, the time has come for a renewed sense of commitment, discipline, and unity among management and staff. She urged employees to prioritize attendance to duty and demonstrate greater dedication to the agency’s mandate of national orientation and civic education.

“To whom much is given, much is expected,” she said, emphasizing that her elevation comes with responsibility not only to lead but also to deliver measurable improvements in performance and morale.

The NOA Anambra Director stressed that teamwork would be central to her administration. She cautioned against what she described as “scattered loyalty,” urging staff members to align their commitment toward a common institutional goal rather than factional interests.

“I don’t believe in scattered loyalty; let us put our loyalties together,” she stated. “There must be canes, but not to harm any staff. The canes are for correction and not to harm.”

Her remarks signaled a leadership style that she described as firm but fair, aimed at restoring discipline while maintaining staff welfare and professional dignity.

Chijioke also praised the Director-General, Isa Lanre Onilu, for what she termed his unwavering foresight and commitment to staff welfare. She noted that under his leadership, more doors had been opened for promotion opportunities, improved staff protection, and enhanced workplace morale within the agency nationwide.

Observers within the agency say the appointment of the NOA Anambra Director comes at a critical time when public communication, civic engagement, and grassroots sensitization remain essential components of governance.

The National Orientation Agency plays a strategic role in promoting government policies, fostering patriotism, and strengthening citizen participation across Nigeria. In Anambra State, the agency is expected to collaborate closely with state authorities to amplify developmental messaging and community engagement.

In that regard, Chijioke pledged to partner with the administration of Chukwuma Soludo, Governor of Anambra State. She commended the governor for what she described as notable achievements, particularly his claim of implementing developmental projects without borrowing funds.

The NOA Anambra Director said her office would align with ongoing state initiatives to ensure that citizens are adequately informed and mobilized in support of government programmes.

“I have no doubt that the heaven and earth are with me as I embark on the onerous task ahead,” she added, expressing confidence in divine guidance as she assumes the new responsibility.

The event also featured prayers and goodwill messages from stakeholders. Ordinand ThankGod Obidiegwu of St. Paul’s Anglican Seminary, Awka, offered prayers for wisdom and humility for the NOA Anambra Director. He urged her not to use her new office as an instrument of intimidation but to lead with compassion and inclusiveness.

Promotions, he said, ultimately come from God, and leadership should be exercised with a sense of stewardship and accountability.

The emergence of a substantive NOA Anambra Director is expected to strengthen the agency’s operational structure in the state. Analysts believe that renewed internal cohesion and strategic partnerships could enhance the agency’s impact in promoting national values and civic responsibility.

As Chijioke begins her tenure, expectations remain high among staff and stakeholders. Her promise to break institutional barriers and restore unity will likely shape the direction of the agency in the months ahead.

The iNews Times will continue to monitor developments within the National Orientation Agency in Anambra State and provide updates on reforms, partnerships, and policy-driven initiatives under the new leadership.
