…”It was an enriching discussion on relationships,” Peter Obi wrote.
ABUJA, NIGERIA- The iNews Times| Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, on Wednesday held a breakfast meeting in Abuja with the British High Commissioner to Nigeria and diplomats representing the European Union, Germany, Canada, and France.
Obi disclosed the meeting in a post shared on his X handle, describing the engagement as “an enriching discussion on relationships.”
“Today in Abuja, I had a breakfast meeting with some diplomats that included the British High Commissioner to Nigeria and his colleagues from the European Union, Germany, Canada, and France. It was an enriching discussion on relationships,” he wrote.
Although details of the discussions were not made public, the meeting comes at a time of increasing engagement between Nigerian political figures and members of the international community.
Observers note that such interactions often reflect growing diplomatic interest in Nigeria’s political and economic direction, especially as the country gradually moves toward the 2027 general elections.
Peter Obi, who emerged as a key opposition figure in the 2023 presidential election, has remained actively involved in national conversations, particularly on governance, economic reforms, and policy direction.
The latest meeting is seen as part of broader political consultations and alignments, as stakeholders both within and outside Nigeria continue to monitor developments ahead of the next electoral cycle.
