…the Arise TV anchor referenced historical events and allegations surrounding Israeli operations.

Abuja, Nigeria — The iNews Times reports that a heated on-air confrontation unfolded on Arise TV on Friday as anchor Rufai Oseni clashed with Michael Freeman during a live interview, raising tensions over Israel’s military history, casualties in Gaza, and nuclear policy.

The exchange, which quickly gained attention online, saw Oseni repeatedly challenge the envoy over Israel’s past military actions and ongoing controversies in the Middle East.

During the discussion, the Arise TV anchor referenced historical events and allegations surrounding Israeli operations, including attacks linked to the King David Hotel bombing and the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

“I mean, we can go back historically,” Oseni said during the broadcast. “I can tell you about the King David Hotel bombings, Irgun, and all the other atrocities, even Gaza, where Israel initially denied the number of people killed before eventually acknowledging them.”

He also raised concerns about alleged actions by Israeli forces in the West Bank, noting that investigations into potential crimes by the Israeli military were ongoing.

At one point during the tense Rufai Oseni vs Israeli Ambassador exchange, the Arise TV anchor interrupted the diplomat while insisting on completing his argument.

“Hang on a minute, let me finish. Do not interrupt me, ambassador. Let me finish,” he said.

Oseni further accused Israel and its allies of what he described as “hypocrisy,” referencing statements made during a recent 12-day conflict involving Iran and comments by former United States President Donald Trump.

Responding, Ambassador Freeman rejected several of the allegations raised by the anchor, describing some of the claims as inaccurate.

“Well, before I go to the second part, some of the statements you made in the beginning were outrageous and absolutely based on no facts,” Freeman said.

He also questioned casualty figures reported from Gaza, stating that Israel disputes some of the numbers released by authorities in the territory.

“For example, Israel still disputes some of these numbers of people in Gaza that the Hamas authorities claim. We absolutely do not accept those figures. Reports suggesting otherwise are simply not true,” the ambassador said.

Freeman also addressed the issue of Iran’s nuclear programme, arguing that Israel and the United States had previously set back Iran’s nuclear ambitions during a 12-day conflict.

According to him, Iranian authorities later resumed efforts to rebuild the programme, including attempts to enrich uranium and expand ballistic missile capabilities.

The tense Rufai Oseni vs Israeli Ambassador interview has since generated widespread reactions on social media, with viewers debating both the Arise TV anchor’s approach and the ambassador’s responses during the live broadcast.
