The iNews Times reports that Members of the South East Obidient Movement have denied endorsement of any candidate for the November 8 governorship election in Anambra state.

The group led by Comrade Ikenna Azomchine (The Obidient General) and member of National Advisory Council of the Obidient Movement disclosed this during an exclusive stakeholders’ meeting held in Awka.

Speaking at the meeting, Azomchine chided the endorsement of several candidates by individuals parading themselves as executives of the Obidient Movement in Anambra State.

He reiterated the movement’s unwavering commitment to supporting Peter Obi in his bid to become the president of Nigeria.

He said, “We will not settle for the vice presidential position. It’s either Peter Obi becomes President or Tinubu continues.

“We’ll continue to support Peter Obi, regardless of the political party he chooses to represent in the 2027 presidential election.”

Azomchine called for unity, passion and dedication among members.

Member of the Imo State Obidient Movement Committee, Mr. Vigilus Anukanti underscored the importance of solidarity and strategic engagement.

Barr Eucharia Ezeukwu of the Anambra Obidient Movement Committee emphasized the vital role women play in advancing the movement’s goals and ensuring the realization of its mandate.

National Coordinator of the Great Grassroot Ambassadors, Ms. Ijeoma Uzodinma called on all Obidients to rise above the defeatist mindset subtly spreading through discouraging statements meant to bring apathy and complacency.

Also speaking, former Anambra State led-coordinator of Obidient Movement,

Comrade Chidi Nzekwe urged members to actively participate in politics by contesting for elective positions.

He encouraged effective mobilization efforts in support of Peter Obi and other credible candidates, stressing the importance of securing a legacy for future generations.

Highlights of the meeting was an interactive session where Obidients from different political parties proposed improved strategies to engage citizens and reignite their commitment to supporting Peter Obi’s presidential bid in the 2027 election.
