‎…“I agree with them that he stepped down because of health issues, as that’s what their media statement says,” Dalung said.

‎ABUJA, NIGERIA- The iNews Times| A former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, has said the exit of Finance Minister Wale Edun signals that no member of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s inner circle is guaranteed security.

‎

‎Dalung made the remark while reacting to reports surrounding Edun’s departure, despite his long-standing relationship with the president.

‎While an official statement attributed Edun’s exit to health concerns, there have also been claims that he was dismissed.

‎

‎Responding to the development, Dalung said the public explanation may not fully reflect the situation.

‎

‎“I agree with them that he stepped down because of health issues, as that’s what their media statement says,” he said.

‎

‎“But the truth is more than what they’re sharing with the people of Nigeria.”

‎

‎He added that Edun had worked closely with Tinubu for many years, suggesting that his removal, under whatever circumstances, points to a broader pattern within the administration.

‎

‎According to him, the development reinforces the perception that no individual within the president’s circle is beyond political vulnerability.
