ABUJA, NIGERIA- The iNews Times| President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria following a three-nation diplomatic visit to France, Kenya, and Rwanda.
A statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that the presidential aircraft landed at the Presidential Wing of the Lagos Airport at about 7:12 p.m.
According to the statement, Tinubu was received by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa, alongside other senior government officials.
The presidency stated that while in France, Tinubu held meetings with global investors where he emphasised transparency, fiscal discipline, and the rationale behind his administration’s economic reforms.
According to the statement, the president also participated in the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, co-hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto.
During the summit, Tinubu reportedly called for reforms to the global financial system and advocated stronger economic integration across Africa to promote growth and prosperity on the continent.
The president also highlighted Nigeria’s potential in the blue economy sector, describing it as one of the pillars for Africa’s future development.
According to the statement, Tinubu further pledged Nigeria’s willingness to share its maritime intelligence infrastructure with interested countries within the Gulf of Guinea region as part of efforts to strengthen regional cooperation and security.
